Red

Last night as I was getting ready for Wednesday night service I decided to try something a little more bold with my makeup.

A while ago I quit wearing lip gloss every day (and it wasnt because I was kissing a bunch of boys.) The stupid wind would always blow my lush locks of curly blond hair in my face. Wind + lip gloss = a mouth full of sticky hair.

I  fished through my collection of lip sticks and found the perfect one. After carefully apply my lip stick and topping it off with a coat of gloss I approached my parents.

My Mother's reaction "Wow. That's bright!"
My Father's reaction "Wow. Aw man you look like Red! That album cover!"
Me "You mean Taylor Swift"
My Father "Yeah she has those bright red lips!"

Needless to say they were right. I managed to pull off Taylor Swift's bright red lips without even trying! It was a wonderful night! Gotta love your parents! <3

No Sew Lace Shorts

Summer is coming! And with a new season comes new clothes. (am I right ladies?) Some of us though (poor college students) don't have the cash to buy a new summer wardrobe. Instead of going out and buying a new pair of jean shorts I decided to work with what I had in my drawers. Taking jeans with holes in them I made these adorable no sew shorts! This project was quick and easy and I love the way they turned out!

Items You Will Need:
*A Pair of Old Jeans/Pants
*Lace (enough to trim both legs)
*Fusible Bonding Web (heavy)
*An Iron
*A Damp Wash Cloth

Step One: Take a pair of  old jeans that you are willing to cut into shorts. Cut your jeans an inch and half longer then you want them to be.

Step Two: Fold the inch and a half of your cut offs up to cover up the frayed ends.

Step Three: Cut a strip of you fusible bonding web long enough to fit the front half of your short leg. Tuck the bonding fuse under your inch fold.

Step Four: Place your damp cloth on the fold of your jeans and press your hot iron. Hold for 10 seconds then repeat for both legs.

Step Five: Turn your newly hemmed shorts inside out. Using the same exact technique we used to hem your cut offs measure and cut your lace and bonding web. Place your lace on top of your bonding web and repeat step four around the entire hem.

And hooray you're done!

After five easy steps your now have a brand new pair of shorts that look store bought! Be prepared for compliments girl because you will look fine in these!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Today is the day we celebrate the woman who brought us into this world! I love my Mom so much though that one day a year is not enough to appreciate her!

My Mother has taught me so many things about life! How to share, how to be kind, the importance of respecting your leaders, and how to be lady like. Without her help in my life I don't know who I would be! No matter what I decided to do my Mom was my biggest fan, she always pushed me to do my best and reminds me constantly that she is proud of me. She is the funniest person I know, with her sarcasm and giggles it's always a blast when we're together!

Besides being sweet and loving my Mom is tough as nails. No joke! We recently discovered that my Mom has breast cancer. (read her blog to see how she is doing) Having your Mom visit you at college and tell you she has breast cancer is something I would not enjoy reliving. Watching as she displayed faith in God, and peace about breast cancer has been simply amazing. I always knew my Mom was one tough cookie but this newest development just takes the cake!

Being a stay at home Mom, my Mother has quickly become my best friend and I KNOW she will always be! When I walk down that aisle on my wedding day she WILL be there, when I become a Mother in the years to come she will be my role model. My whole life I have always wanted to become like my Mom. There's no other woman in this world I want to be most like

She is my best friend, my biggest fan, my support team, she tolerates me the best when I go crazy, and no matter what I know she will always be there for me. Thank you Mom for being my hero and my role model for so many years and for the years to come! I love you so much and cannot wait to see all the fun things that we will get into this summer!!

An Amazig Girl Who WILL Change The World

Check out that title! ^^^ It's a mouth full but I couldn't think of a title that would describe my friend Martha better!

Tonight I got to have the privilege of taking my dear friend Martha out for frozen yogurt. (a new obsession I have) I enjoyed my self so much!(and the frozen yogurt) We talked about school, friends, God, and life. It's amazing to look back on last year and see how much she has grown. Graduating high-school this year she will be off to college in the fall and I KNOW God has such amazing plans for this girls life!

A year ago we were two totally different people. I cannot wait to see how much this beautiful girl will grow this summer and the coming years! I love you Martha! <3

Dreamsicle Cake (How To)

How many of you love eating dreamsicle popsicle? Every time I think of one I am remembered of summer time! Today I was browsing around the inter-web and I found this delicious recipe, so without further thought my Mom and I put the three simple ingredients on our grocery list!

Ingredients needed to make this award winning desert:

1 box (15.25 oz) of white cake mix
1 container (6 oz) non-fat Greek yogurt, plain
1 cup of orange juice
Powder sugar (optional)

In a large mixing bowl, add cake mix, Greek yogurt, and orange juice. Stir until your ingredients are well mixed together.  Spray an 8x8 pan and spread the yummy batter evenly into it!

Bake the cake at 350 for 30-33 minuets!

Once cooled dust some powder sugar over the top for the finishing touch!

And now you have made a blue ribbon desert for sure! Besides the fact that this cake is so simple to make a piece of it only adds up to about 200 calories! It was a blast being able to make this cake so quickly just in time for my sweet tooth.

To finish of my night I'm going to eat this delicious and fabulous cake while watching a movie. Until next time my dear friends!

Three cheers for three years

Can I just take a moment and brag on my boyfriend? Is that allowed?

After three years my boyfriend Chris has graduated with his associates degree in Leadership! I am so proud of this man of God. He encourages me daily to spend time in the Word and grow my relationship with our Creator. Chris has worked hard to serve to his best abilities which I admire about him!

I cannot wait to see what God has in store for Chris this summer and this next stage of life!
Way to go Chris! Always remember I'm proud of you! <3
