DIY: You're My Favoite Book

Hello ladies!

Are you ready for Spring yet? I know I am! I've spent so many days in the house mainly because it's terribly cold out and I have no desire to go out.

The up-side to long and cold winter days is it gives me time to make and create fun things.

Chris' birthday was this past week and I thought I would share with you what I did for part of his present!

You Will Need:
Paper
Fabric (I used burlap)
Needle & Thread
Pictures

First I cut out 5x5 squares of paper and fabric, I then sewed one square of paper onto one square of fabric making a pocket.

Once I sewed 10 pockets I glued a photograph to the side of paper that was pocketless.

If you want you can print the design I made for the cover!

After I finished all of my sewing and glueing I wrote a little letter/love note for each pocket.

Lastly I punched a whole in the corner of each page and tied them together with ribbon creating the perfect little book!

Homemade gifts are always my go to, and this one took a bit longer but it was worth it!

Stay warm folks!

5 Ways To Make Your Man Feel Special

Every woman likes to feel special.

We crave that feeling, but how often do we make our man feel special?

They deserve that feeling too! They deserve to be the center of attention!

If your poor like me, (can I get an amen?) you can't simply go out and buy your man a brand new four wheeler or Rolex. BUT we can go out of our way in some more creative ways.

1) Brag about him
Nothing makes someone feel better than being reaffirmed with words. Post a status about him, give him a shout out on Twitter, or post your new favorite picture of him on Instagram. Tell you girlfriends why he is simply the best! Believe it or not you can even brag about him while he's listening, it's completely ok!

2) Make him a book
Making something homemade is always one of my "go to" ideas. Creating personal little books of memories and inside jokes will always bring a smile. Some easy ideas you could use are an "ABC book of our love" or a "52 Reasons why I love you." Pintrest is full of simple and thoughtful DIY that your man will love!

3) Leave him little notes
They will keep these forever! It doesn't matter if your married, dating for two months, or engaged leaving a note for your man reminds him that you're thinking of him and they need to know that!

4) Kiss him on the forehead
It's innocent and sweet.

5) Surprise him
Ladies you know your man! Give him a surprise that's just for him! If that means YOU ask HIM on a date to the new hit action movie then do it, or you could simply rub his feet after a long day. Go out of your way and do something that he will not be expecting, it will make his day!

As you can see it doesn't take hundreds of dollars to make your man feel special.

Now go get em' tiger!

One Year

A year ago today Chris asked me to be his girlfriend and I readily accepted!

Now we're engaged and waiting for July 12th to spend the rest of our lives together!

This past year we have gone through such a whirl wind of events and crazy months, and I am blessed to have had Chris stand strong right there next to me.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words I figured I would share some pictures of our wonderful year together!

I am blessed beyond belief to get the honor to spend the rest of my life with this man who is also my best friend.

Love you Chris!

Wishes Do Come True

"Star light star bright, first star I see tonight..."

Can I just say that I love Disney. It has a special place in my heart, and since August 30th 2013, it has an even more special place in my heart.

*drum roll* I am now a bride to be! (insert squeal)

Chris and I met my parents in Disney World to help my Mom with an event she coordinates, we spent nine days in the most magical place on Earth and let me tell you it was magical!

The firsts day in Magic Kingdom was spent showing Chris all the magical attractions and shows and later that evening Chris had it arranged to take me to Cinderella's castle for dinner. Which was simply delicious!  After dinner we met up with my parents, aunt, and little cousin to watch the Wishes Fireworks show in front of the castle.

(Note: It's hot and humid.)

While waiting for the fireworks to begin I  will admit I was becoming agitated with the heat and the extremely tall person who decided to stand right in front of me. Remember I am only 5ft! But once the show started I was zoned in to the presentation.

The following is the conversation Chris and I had during the firework show...

Chris: "Hey Stephanie I have to ask you a question."
Me: "What?"
Chris: *gets down on one knee* "Will you marry me?"
Me: "Are you serious!?"

Yes he was serious!! It was perfect every aspect of the moment! My Mom snapped photo after photo, my Dad's eyes were watery, my aunt and little cousin were bursting with smiles, it is by far my new favorite memory. I am so blessed to be able to plan my future with Chris and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in this next chapter of our lives.

In short my blogs are now going to have a lot more to share with the planning process, and all the new and exciting things that are on the brink of happening!

 "...a world of wishes,
A world where dreams come true.
So make a wish, see it through.
Dare to do what dreamers do..
."

I am simply bursting with joy to share all the excitement with y'all!

7 Months and Counting

Today Chris and I are celebrating 7 months together! Being 10 hours away from each other is always a little hard. While at work today Chris managed to make my day even from 10 hours away!

As I was settling down a group of hyper grade school kids for lunch the strangest thing happened. A pizza delivery guy walks into the room, looking confused as ever, asking for a Stephanie. "That's me" I spoke up really confused. The delivery guy proceeded to explain that I needed to sign his form and the pizza had already been paid for. That's when it hit me! Chris had ordered me a pizza and delivered it to my work! Could he be any more amazing?!

A few minuets later another confused deliver guy walked through the doors, this time with a vase full of summer flowers. The children's voices echoed through the room "Your boyfriend is the best!" You should buy him a car!" "You should keep him!" And the occasional "EWWWWW!"

Flowers and pizza, Chris sure knows the way to my heart!

Happy 7 months Chris! And thank you so much, I can't wait to be together again!

The Magic of Mail

I have previously mentioned that my boyfriend and I live 10 hours away this summer. Instead of seeing each other every day we now have to go months before seeing each other in person. That does not stop us from showing each other we care.

The postal service has become one of our main sources of communication. Today I was excited to receive a little package from Chris. Inside was an adorable necklace! Isn't he the best!? Thank you Chris!

Blog Every Day In June/ Someone That Makes Me Happy #4

Someone that makes me (very) happy is my sweet boyfriend Chris!

How can I even begin?! He is the perfect boyfriend for a girl like me! We met at college this past fall and will be dating 7 months on the 11th! (We started dating on 11/11!!) currently we live 10hrs apart from each other. I'm the northern girl who fell for the southern boy! What can I say, ladies love country boys. Besides being able to make me laugh no matter how I feel, he gets me! Every time we spend together becomes an adventure and a memory to smile back on. I thank God for Chris each and every day because I am absolutely blessed to have someone like him in my life. He makes me happy when my world is shaken, and I love him very much so!

Blog Every Day In June/ Something Beautiful #1

After searching Pintrest and Google over and over I have finally found a 30 day blog challenge! Thanks to Love Builds This Happy Home I am ready to begin!

Since  I found this challenge a few days late or I will end up catching up! (but that's ok right?)

Something Beautiful #1
Family! My family is crazy, beautiful, and I love each and every person so much! Family is how I learned to love, who I first loved, and they taught be to be genuine and unique. Living apart from them for school is torture but coming home to smiles and laughter is the most beautiful thing I can imagine. It may seem cliche to some but God has truly blessed me with the most beautiful family ever! Love y'all!

The most amazing parents of all time!

My brother and his lovely wife Lindsey
Last but not least my other brother David!
